Dental volunteering in kenya
Maasai Molar exists to support Aitong, Kenya with qualified volunteer medical and dental personnel. Aitong is small town located approximately 225km from Nairobi, over a 6-hour drive.
Kenya has just 1 dentist per 42,000 of the population (the ideal is 1:7,400), yet most of whom practise in urban areas such as Nairobi, leaving the majority of the population without access to basic dental care. Up to 40% of school aged children have decayed teeth, which leads to poor concentration, lower grades and psycho-social issues.
Volunteer with us today, develop your clinical skills, have an amazing experience and give back to this wonderful community!
Provide safe, quality dental care for the Maasai and surrounding community
Develop and sustain culturally appropriate dental programs for the regional schools
Work with the community health services to improve health outcomes
Collaborate with other organisations to ensure unity and growth
"The contrast between the 1st and 3rd world really hit me, the kindness and the impact of the human spirit. My life has changed in a way to be more mindful and grateful for what I do have. With so few resources we really made an impact!."
— Hilary Browne, Maasai Molar Volunteer
