Is it safe?
The team at Maasai Molar work closely with our in-country partners to keep informed of any security issues. During the trip you will be accompanied by a local host and team leader at all times. Despite the safety of Aitong, you are advised not to wander off and keep to issued timetables.
Do I need a visa?
Each country has its own visa requirements, from the United Kingdom you can apply online in advance for a cost of $50. Maasai Molar can advise you, but you should check your own visa requirements at http://evisa.go.ke/evisa.html
How much does the trip cost?
The trip is a total of $1490 (excluding flights), this covers transport to and from Nairobi, accommodation, 3 meals a day, soft drinks & water, passes to the Maasai Mara National Park, tips and souvenirs.
What isn’t included: Flights, Travel insurance, vaccinations and malarial prophylaxis. Maasai Molar can advise on all requirements and flight times, you should also consult with a travel clinic for any contraindications.
What will the accommodation be like?
We are lucky to partner with a local hotel, which is clean, comfortable and like a family away from home! There is hot water – most of the time!
What will the clinic be like?
We set up the mobile clinic in the health centre at Aitong, it is basic, but clean and the staff are amazing. You will be carrying out duties similar to home, hygiene-based treatment, extractions, simple restorations and health education.
We also visit the local schools to carry out health education, you are encouraged to team up and produce fun, interactive lessons together.
Where can I fly from?
Anywhere in The World! We will have teams joining from the UK, UAE, USA and more…. We must be ready to leave Nairobi by 11am on the first day. If you need to arrive the day before we can recommend a hotel close to the airport.
How am I going to pay for this?
There is no limit to using your imagination! How about a bake sale? Sell those too-high heels on ebay, sponsored silence?, rope your patients into some fundraising or your clinic to support you.
